Android N
starts arriving on new Nexus devices, sometime in the next few months, it will
bring with it hundreds of improvements. Some we have already shown, the big flagships
still like multitasking, new notification shade, but there are a lot of other
improvements were seeing in the first band that Google hasn’t talked about. Let
me tell you what some of those prizes are.
The build in
file manager is a lot more powerful, you might not even know that’s Marshmallow
actually had built in file explorer already in it, but got more powerful
Android N, if you want to find it go to “setting” then “storage and explore”.
Nexus has
become second nature to me, it started testing Android N, double tapping the “Recent
Apps Button” let you switch between your last apps that’s it, by keeping
tapping it will take you to the previous one and the previous one and the
previous one, it’s really useful.
The next one
is going to be very handy if you get a lot of spamming and telemarketing calls,
you can block phone numbers at the system level, we get calls all the time,
people that want us to download more RAM on our computer, tell us you Windows
computer are putting out Airs. Android N now has a system level Call Blocking
feature, it’s going to play across the entire phone, and the best of all
setting is going to persist across reset, if you got a new phone away for current
one, you’re starting from ground zero.
Next one is pretty
handy for you guys that use your phone as an alarm, Do Not Disturb can set and
automatically alarm goes off.
Phones are
becoming more important to us, there are credit card, also a way to let people know
how to reach our loved ones, should something bad happened to you, you can now
add emergency contact, medical information right to your home screen.
By the way,
Google starts asking for help naming Android N, so, what name would you give to
Android N?
